Buddhist Mantra and Mala Making Workshop
Saturday July 5, 2025 10am – 1:00pm with meditation teacher Dona Zeuli
Cost $35.00 (includes beads to make your mala)

This will be a special In-Person, hands-on workshop. It will include guided meditation, an explanation of the meaning and significance Buddhist Mantras (chanted prayers) and Malas (rosaries) and then actually making your own mala to take home.

A Buddhist mala is a string of beads used to count prayers or mantra recitations. For Buddhist practitioners, their mala is a very precious and meaningful object. In this workshop you’ll have the opportunity to find out about mantra recitation and how to make and use a mala. Mantra is a Sanskrit word, literally meaning `mind protection’. There are many different mantras, as a matter of fact, each Buddha has their own special mantra. We will have cards and information for the different mantras and how to recite them.

There is no special skill required to make your mala. It involves handling small beads, counting them, stringing them on a thread and then making a tassel. You will receive specific, step by step instructions on how to do this.
